Rev. Jung Eun Moon elected as the next CCA General Secretary

Programme Review and Programme Direction

Two key deliberative sessions during the 15th CCA General Assembly are the Programme Review and Programme Direction sessions.

The Programme Review and Programme Direction sessions will both be conducted in three groups relating to the CCA’s programme areas, namely, (i) General Secretariat (GS), (ii) Mission in Unity and Contextual Theology (MU) and Ecumenical Leadership Formation and Spirituality (EF); and (iii) Building Peace and Moving Beyond Conflicts (BP) and Prophetic Diakonia (PD).

Assembly participants will have the option to join one of three groups for both the Programme Review and Programme Direction sessions. For the sake of coherence, the assigned group will remain the same for both sessions.

Chiang Mai, Thailand: The Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) has elected Rev. Jung Eun (Grace) Moon, an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church of Korea, as its new General Secretary during the Executive Committee Meeting being held at the CCA headquarters in Chiang Mai.

The Executive Committee considered the names of two candidates recommended by the Search Committee and, in a closed-door session, voted for Rev. Grace Moon to lead the CCA as its next General Secretary.

Dr Simon added that, based on the assessments made during the interviews and the overall evaluation of the three applicants, the committee proposed two names for the final round of voting.

The other name proposed along with Rev. Moon for final voting by the Executive Committee was Rev. Dr Ji Zhang, an ordained minister in the Uniting Church of Australia.

The CCA Executive Committee will conclude its sessions on 21 November 2025 with a closing worship.
