Chiang Mai, Thailand: The General Secretary of the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA), Rev. Jung Eun Grace Moon, has extended congratulations to the re-elected leadership of the Church of Christ in Thailand (CCT) following the 39th CCT General Assembly, held from 19 to 23 October 2026 at the 120th Anniversary Cornelia McGilvary Harris Auditorium at The Prince Royal’s College in Chiang Mai.

The General Assembly brought together more than 1,000 participants, including over 489 voting delegates from across Thailand, to discern the church’s direction, elect its executive leadership, and reaffirm its shared mission. As the church’s highest governing and decision-making body, the General Assembly convenes every two years to guide the life and witness of the CCT.

The following officers were re-elected to serve on the CCT Executive Committee for the 2027–2030 term: Rev. Dr Boonratna Boayen, Moderator; Rev. Pongsak Sintumat, Vice Moderator; Elder Surapong Mitrakul, General Secretary; and Elder Nuttee Kunlacharnpises, Treasurer. Elder Nuttee Kunlacharnpises also serves as a member of the CCA Finance Committee.

In her congratulatory message to the Assembly on 19 October 2026, Rev. Moon conveyed greetings and heartfelt congratulations to the church’s leadership, delegates, ecumenical guests, and members. She expressed her hope that the Assembly would be a time of renewed faith, unity, and discernment as the church continues its witness and mission in Thailand and beyond.

Reflecting on the Assembly’s theme, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God,” Rev. Moon emphasised that God’s presence does not promise a journey without difficulty but assures the church that it does not face its challenges alone. This promise gives the church courage to move beyond fear, discern together, and respond faithfully to the needs of its neighbours.

Rev. Moon also highlighted the longstanding relationship between CCA and CCT, recognising the Church of Christ in Thailand as a founding member of CCA since 1957 and acknowledging its significant contribution to the Asian ecumenical movement.

“Our relationship is a fellowship rooted in faith and sustained by our close cooperation in God’s mission,” she said, expressing appreciation for the commitment, wisdom, and generosity that CCT continues to bring to their shared ecumenical journey.

Looking ahead, Rev. Moon reaffirmed the importance of deepening cooperation between the two organisations in equipping a new generation of ecumenical leaders, strengthening Christian unity, building peace across religious and cultural boundaries, and standing alongside vulnerable communities.

Rev. Moon also extended congratulations to Rev. Prof. Dr Pradit Takerngrangsarit, CCA Foundation President and member of the CCA Executive Committee, on his appointment to the Constitution Interpretation Committee for the upcoming term.
