CCA-WCC Joint Programme on Ecumenical Theological Education
The Ecumenical Theological Educaton is a joint programme of the Christian Conference of Asia and the World Council of Churches to fucus on theological education in both the Asia and the Pacicic. Dr. Wati Longchar is currently the consultant jointly appointed by the CCA and WCC for this programme.

This paper was presented in Colombo consultation on "Towards Social and Human Development in South Asia: Ecumenical Response" on 24-27th July, 2002 organized by WCC and CCA.
The article examines the present state of theological education education and its problems such as financial viability, the church's involvement in theological education and male biased theological education in the region. It tries to show the involvement of ETE-WCC towards viability of theological education in South Asia. Finally, it offers some solutions to over present crises in theological education.
